Why We Love the Views Nature Gives Us

Nature is infinite, beautiful, powerful and healing. We know you’ve come a long way to get here. You have a lot of work ahead. What could be more soothing than looking out at the ocean? Our view changes all the time. That’s the same as your life. You’ve already made a huge change by deciding to come here.

As your body begins to cleanse from substance abuse, our ocean setting will enhance your physical and emotional healing. Research shows sea air is charged with healthy negative ions. These ions build your body’s capacity to absorb more oxygen. Being by the ocean can help you sleep better, too.

We love the colors of the ocean. The colors change with the time of day, the amount of wind, the sun’s glare and clouds. The ocean landscape is a place you can relax and dream. Looking out at the spans of the ocean gives you an opportunity for contemplation. Did your day go well? Did you hold back? Whatever you think, we know you did the best you could.

Storms change the ocean view. Waves rise, crest and fall. They crash ashore with a thundering sound, churn up the sand and create beautiful patterns. Storms by the ocean fill the air with sea mist and salt spray. Storms can be exhilarating. They can also reflect the turmoil you may feel inside as you move forward with your treatment. They can be an outlet for pent up anger.  Storms can engage the wild part of you that wants to scream, run or cry.

The ocean is full of powerful currents that churn beneath the surface. You can see them roiling through a channel during a flood tide. What caused you to become addicted is of course, individual. The answer lies in what’s below the surface—something powerful and life-altering. In recovery your currents will ebb, flow and sometimes flood. When currents collide in the ocean it’s called a riptide. The waves produced from the collision show the demarcation between one current and another. In treatment you will begin to discern the currents of change.

Our beautiful ocean view offers an ideal setting for your treatment. For ages people have been drawn to the ocean, and for a good reason. That’s because the ocean is inherently healing. Here, It’s a place to gently begin opening your heart and a place to feel better.
